This page is the central hub for all of my real trade reviews, which includes real mistakes, real execution issues, and real lessons from actual stock market price action—and that’s why you’ll find both the best high-quality setups and the worst costly mistakes.
🔥 A+ Setups
Every trade you’ll find here is taken from my actual trading journal and real-life experience trading stocks. No cherry-picked winners. No hindsight bias. Just real trades, broken down in detail.
Just what, when, and I traded, and how it all played out…
Each review focuses on a few key areas:
- The setup – What made the trade valid (or invalid)
- Execution – Entry timing, position sizing, and decision-making
- Risk management – Stops, targets, and how risk was handled
- Trader mindset – Was I even in the right headspace to be trading?
- The lesson – What I did right, what I did wrong, and what I’ll improve

📊 What My Trade Reviews Are Revealing
The biggest and most important lessons from tracking your performance and following my trade reviews won’t involve P&L at all… They’ll be focused on performance, execution, and discipline.
Here’s a quick look at what I’ve learned about my own performance over the years:
- I consistently lose when I enter before confirmation
- My best trades come from A+ earnings setups
- My strategy works over a large number of trades
- Oversizing leads to emotional decision-making
- Trading while tired reduces discipline
- The first hour after earnings is critical

Who Are These Trade Reviews For?
First off, I write these reviews for myself, to help me learn what I do wrong, what I do right, and where I can improve my trading performance over time.
But if you’re trying to become a consistently profitable trader, this page is for you.
Most traders don’t fail because they can’t find setups.
They fail because of poor execution, impatience, and lack of discipline.
I know this because I’ve been there, and I still struggle from time to time.
These reviews are built for traders who:
- Struggle with entering too early or too late
- Break their own rules under pressure
- Want to understand how real trades actually play out
- Care about improving their process—not just chasing wins
What You’ll Learn From These Trade Reviews
This isn’t just a collection of trades—it’s a breakdown of how trading decisions actually get made in real time.
By going through these reviews, you’ll learn:
- How to identify A+ post-earnings momentum setups
- Why waiting for confirmation (like candle closes) matters
- How poor execution can ruin even the best setups
- How position sizing and emotional control impact performance
- How to think in terms of process over outcomes
You’ll also see a recurring theme:
The biggest losses don’t come from bad setups.
They come from breaking your own rules.
Why These Reviews Matter
Anyone can post winning trades.
Very few traders are willing to break down:
- The trades they rushed
- The setups they misread
- The moments they lost discipline
That’s where the real edge comes from.
This page is designed to document that process—so every mistake becomes something you can learn from, not repeat.
How I Review My Trades
The framework I use when reviewing a trade is simple. But it’s more complex than whether I made money or lost money, and how much. For example, I’ll always look at:
- What was the catalyst?
- Was the setup A+, B, or lower quality?
- Did the trade align with your rules?
- Did you size correctly?
- Did you wait for confirmation?
- What was the actual lesson?

I also use a spreadsheet and trading journal that I’ve built from scratch, which allows me to track my expectancy and profitability metrics, including the numbers of trades I place, my risk-to-reward ration, average winner vs average losers and average P&L per trade.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a trade review?
A trade review is a detailed breakdown of a completed trade. It typically includes the setup, entry and exit decisions, risk management, and the outcome. More importantly, it focuses on identifying what was done right, what was done wrong, and what can be improved going forward.
Why should traders review their trades?
Trade reviews help traders identify patterns in their behavior and performance. Over time, they reveal whether profits and losses are coming from solid decision-making or repeated mistakes like poor timing, oversizing, or breaking rules. Without reviewing trades, it’s almost impossible to improve consistently.
What makes a good trade setup?
A good trade setup is one that aligns with a clear, repeatable strategy and has defined risk and reward parameters. This often includes strong catalysts (like earnings), clear technical levels, and confirmation across multiple timeframes. The best setups are not just high probability—they are also structured and disciplined.
Why is waiting for candle confirmation important?
Waiting for candle confirmation—such as the close of a 1-hour candle—helps validate that a move is real and not just short-term volatility. Entering too early can lead to poor pricing, unnecessary drawdowns, and emotional decision-making. Confirmation improves timing, reduces risk, and increases consistency.
How do trade reviews improve trading performance?
Trade reviews improve performance by turning experience into actionable insight. Instead of repeating the same mistakes, traders can refine their execution, stick to their rules, and build discipline over time. Consistent review helps shift the focus from outcomes to process—which is what drives long-term profitability.
